Concussion in Sport

concussion picSports Medicine Australia WA Branch (SMAWA) with major support of the Department of Sport and Recreation coordinates the SMAWA Concussion in Sport Education Project.

Concussion is a brain injury and is defined as a complex pathophysiological process affecting the brain, induced by biomechanical forces.

Concussion injuries occur at all levels of sport and it is important to have a customised approach to manage them effectively.

We are asking all community level sporting club members to take part in a survey, which will continue to build the project’s effectiveness and develop future strategies. The survey is only 12 questions and should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.

Survey responses close Monday 27th June 2016.
